According to a recent CareerBuilder survey, 43 percent of U.S. companies engage in continuous
employee recruiting. This means that although they may not have an opening for a specific position, they will still market the role to potential candidates.
"More than one-in-four employers say they currently have positions for which they can't find qualified candidates," said Hope Gurion, chief development officer at CareerBuilder.
More than two-thirds of those who recruit year-round said continuous recruiting has reduced their time-to-hire, helping them fill vacant positions more quickly. Specifically, 41 percent of the nearly 2,700 hiring managers and human resource professionals surveyed said they were able to reduce time-to-hire by an average of three weeks. Of the 41 percent who said they saw a reduction in cost-per-hire, 22 percent said they had saved $1,000 or more.
According to the results of the most recent ROI of Social Media in the Enterprise survey, conducted by SelectMinds, nearly three-quarters of companies are actively engaged in recruiting employees via social media initiatives. LinkedIn and Facebook were the two most frequently used sites.
