Mobile technology may be the latest frontier for
employee recruiting. According to TMCnet, recruiters that expand to the platform can offer an easier and more user-friendly application process compared to filling out complex forms or uploading documents such as resumes and cover letters.
"We have a very unique opportunity to, if we create the right marketing recruitment strategy, reach a much wider audience in a way that you can't when you're trying to email them on the desktop," Michael Marlatt, founder of mRecruitingcamp, told Business Insider, adding that people's dependence on their mobile devices give mobile recruiting an edge. "We never leave home without it. It's the keys, the wallet or the purse and the mobile device."
According to Marlatt, the channel's immediacy and relevancy can allow recruiters to reach a wider audience in real time. However, it's important to note that mobile recruiting should not be perceived as a replacement for internet, social media or offline efforts, but rather as a complement.
Mobile recruitment - like social media recruitment - is likely to be especially effective among the younger generation, due to millennials' familiarity with smartphones, social networking websites and the like.
