The former assistant to Motley Crue's Tommy Lee recently filed suit against the rocker for making improper wage deductions and failing to adequately compensate him for overtime employee attendance.
Reuters reports that Michael Anthony Sullivan claimed he worked 80 to 100 hours per week while on the road with Lee but never received compensation for the extra time and attendance. Additionally, the lawsuit claims that Lee required Sullivan to move into his home and docked him $1,000 per month for rent, even when he was no longer living at the house.
Rolling Stone notes that Sullivan also claimed he often paid for supplies for Lee and his family without being reimbursed.
After Lee terminated Sullivan's employment in March, he is alleged to have engaged in a smear campaign that damaged Sullivan's chances of finding further employment and lost him two tour manager positions. He is suing for no less than $50,000 plus punitive damages.
The lawsuit was filed in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles. Under California law, eligible employees must be paid overtime for working more than eight hours in one day or 40 hours per week.
