Before a company's human resources team hits the "post" button for the latest opening, they might want to troll the internet to do a little reputation management, according to California Employer Daily. Social media is quickly becoming one of the best ways to keep talent pipelines filled, as HR professionals can reach out to prospects before positions are available and stay in contact with highly qualified professionals until spots open up.
"At this point, social media and a person's social footprint is becoming one of the top three go-to places to find talent," Maneesh Goyal, president of marketing firm MKG, told USA Today. "We really know who we need and who we want. Sometimes we find it's easier to go to them as opposed to waiting for them to come to us."
This is becoming common across the board, as firms have found they can learn more about candidates though multiple social mediums, such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter, to get a holistic picture about the qualities they're bringing to the table, the source adds.
However, human resources teams must also make sure their own online profiles are creating the correct impressions, California Employer Daily reports. There are new sites cropping up, through which employees or former workers are posting negative reviews about their experiences working for certain employers, which can impact their employee recruitment success in the future.
