Human resources frontrunners recognized for employee recruitment achievements

The Atlanta Association of Health Care Recruiters recently honored nine of its members at the inaugural ajcjobs 2011 Outstanding Recruiter Awards earlier this month, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Brandy Tate of Riverdale-based Southern Regional Medical Center was honored for her employee recruiting achievements after handling the hiring of 85 positions simultaneously and taking on additional workers' compensation cases.

The three-person team of Almeta Collins, Heather McCranie and Carol McDermott of DeKalb Medical Center was recognized for serving as the sole human resources consultants for an organization that employs 3,800 workers.

Sue Dunlap, who also works at DeKalb Medical Center, was rewarded for managing the employment department during a period of turmoil caused by staffing changes.

Human resources employees from Amedisys Home Health Services, Piedmont Hospital, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory Healthcare were also nominated.

The event was founded in order to mark the 20th anniversary of National Health Care Recruiter Recognition Day, which was declared by Congress to fall on the first Tuesday of June.
