Mobile recruitment is set to become the next big thing in human resources, as an increasing number of people are leveraging their smartphones to hunt for jobs.
"Mobile recruitment is very efficient," said HR and social media strategist Jessica Miller-Merrell. "Social media gives the employers the opportunity to be transparent, share business trends and show the potential employees why their company would be a great place to work."
Employers looking to take advantage of the trend are advised to make sure that the
employee recruiting sections of their websites are compatible with the mobile devices.
In order to facilitate the mobile job application process, a plethora of smartphone apps have been released. However, recruiting news site ERE notes that a technology advancement needs to take place before applying via mobile can be truly efficient.
"The technology's not 100 percent there," recruitment leader Geoff Peterson told the news source. "In theory (it) can be done for sure, but do I see a lot … being done now? No."
